In this episode of Winnipeg Weekends on 680 CJOB, Marie Mallari, Geraldine Ong and Erika Rotor from Sugar Blooms and Cakes bakery discuss their recent win of the Big Bake holiday on The Food Network Canada. The bakery specializes in Filipino-flavored cakes and started 11 years ago in Winnipeg. Despite being up against experienced bakers, the team was able to rep their Filipino culture and win the competition, taking home the grand prize of 10 thousand dollars. In the end, they expressed their excitement in being the first Asian-Canadian team to compete and to represent their culture on the Food Network.
