The Lifesaving Society of Manitoba is offering free swimming instructor and lifeguard training for individuals who agree to work during the summer as part of their Northern Water Smart program. Dr. Chris Love, Water Smart and Safety Management Coordinator, explains that the program is going into its 19th season and provides basic swim instruction, first aid training, and boat safety training in northern or remote communities. Individuals interested in applying can find the posting on the website lifesaving.mb.ca, and upon completion of the training, individuals are freely available to work anywhere in the aquatics industry.
